I welcome and encourage commissions. Commissions are an extremely exciting and rewarding aspect of my work as an artist. While they are often more complicated and challenging than the formation of individual pieces, there is a great sense of satisfaction in creating a commissioned work intended for a specific space. Pre-historic and historic native American Indian pottery can be replicated from photos or authentic pottery. Size, color, shape and design can be selected to fit a specific space to accommodate the individual needs and tastes of each client. The combination of hundreds of photos of my previous work and an extensive research library allows endless possibilities for commissioned works. Access to photos of the home or environment, paint chips, and fabrics can help to ensure the best possible result. My contemporary sculpture has been greatly influenced by special commissions. My largest pieces and bodies of work have been commissioned. Often when “traditional” art won’t work for a space, a more creative approach becomes necessary. One such project was the creation of a thematic work which was installed on a large rock wall in a home. Another project was formed to follow the curvature of a stairway wall. These commissions work best if I can meet directly with the client and personally view the lighting, furniture, colors, and surfaces found in the space. Smaller, less complicated commissions can often be created from a combination of photos and a description of desired size, color and pattern. Larger commissions usually require me to visit the area. If good photos of the space are provided, along with other materials, I may be able to complete a drawing and description for approval without the need to make a visit. The client will be furnished with photos or a drawing to approve before I begin work on any commission, large or small.
